Status codes UK

I’ve been following my build from day one through the BMW Genius live chat and now and again it’s bounced back and forth between status codes.

I’m one of the lucky ones with my build complete and as of a couple of days ago it was at sea - status 195. I checked in today and it was status 193 again… the Genius was adamant it was right and that the next step would be 195 and my car would be at sea, again. I asked for his status codes list and here it is. There’s some differences to what I’ve seen before with 193 meaning a handful of things before bouncing back to 195. Turns out my car is in the UK and through the workshop awaiting dispatch. Might prevent others confusion and frustration nearing the end.

It's better if you can to get them to give you the 4 digit code for the status which is a lot more granular and also (in my opinion) makes more sense as there are logical status steps after UK port of entry with their own unique status codes.

It seems like the 3 digit codes are the "newer" ones though but up until recently UK live chat was always giving 4 digit ones.

I also wonder if some of these status descriptions (not the codes) are paraphrased by the agent. For example when I last contacted them, they told me this, verbatim:

The status of your car is "in transit or storage". The estimated time of arrival is the week commencing May 9, 2022.
The "in transit or storage" part makes it look like they copied and pasted that from somewhere, and yet it's not in your list of codes above.

I would agree Peter, they definitely paraphrase which creates more confusion. Most of the conversations on live chat feel copy and pasted! ‘Firstly, congratulations on buying an i4. It’s a beautiful car’ 🤦🏻‍♂️ Thanks, againnnn. Going forward, I’ll take your advice and ask for the 4 digit code.

Glad you guys are getting your cars this week. I am surprised that none of the sales assistants have been in touch to say they will have the cars shortly. You would think that deliveries would be booked in with them although nothing surprises me at rhe moment, this has been the most bizarre experience i have had. Still it will all end soon and we shall have our shiny new toys.

I take it you managed to collect yours? Thoughts after a few days of ownership?

Mines still getting a dealer PDI, maybe Immingham is different or it’s just another layer of final checks. Collection Thursday afternoon though 👌🏻
Did you manage to collect okay yesterday?

Should be able to collect mine on Monday morning, then off to the detailers on Wednesday.

It's hit and miss!! Today I got a call back and the guy quoted an update from last week 4 of May. Didn't have access to the 4 digit code, status code was 193, delivery this week (week 19). So I went on the chat to see. The guy said that the last updated was on the 6th 9650 or 195. Expected delivery on the 16th. I spoke with a guy last week who had access to 3 systems! The new one (3 digit only) the old system (had both 4 and 3 digit codes) and the dealer system!! But needed to use the VIN to be certain on the dealer system. He did say the new 3 digit one was the most accurate/ up to date one.

I found out this morning that my car is at 193 and online genius states its already arrived in the UK.
I read that, glanced at your Swiss flag in your profile and thought, "Yeah, that sounds like BMW logistics. No wonder so few of us have our cars!" 😉

My dealer stated that its already cleared customs they r hoping to get it by Friday as i have a roadtrip to Gatwick on Friday evening but it may be a bit tight. I am impressed to clear customs in only 5 days since it left the factory. I did some research and found the ship leaves Bremhaven for the UK on a Saturday.

Nope i am in Sunny England, i have s VPN router which has its server based in Switzerland so it must have picked up my location as Switzerland when i registered.

Hoping to get the car by Friday but think it will be a long shot. I go on holiday on Friday, then not back in the UK until June 1st.

My dealership asked if the car can registered in May and i said no probs. They r fab and anytime i ask for a status update i always get an answer within a couple of hours.

I think all these times vary for everyone but here’s my recent time line.

155 to 190 within a day, 8 days before 193, 5 days before 195, 4 days before 9650 - waiting dealer dispatch (went back to 4 digit codes as 193 means a lot of things) arrived at dealer 4 days later and collected 7 days after that.

Hope that helps!

My car arrived in the Uk last Monday cleared customs on Tuesday and has been at 9650 since then. I have seen the shipping text from my salesman which you dont usually get stating delivery by the 24th. I am in St Lucia so will get it when i get back. I have put in BMW dashcam 3.0 which is availabe on June 1st. In the space of a week a parcelforce van hit me in my wifes car after he was in the wrong lane and i have had two near misses in car parks none of them my fault. At least the parcelforce driver has admitted redonsibility.

Contacted online product genius and for the first time they gave the port info

Your car has arrived in the UK to the Killingholme Port and has been dispatched to your chosen BMW Centre. The Expected Delivery Date is scheduled for 25th May 2022.

I asked for the 4 digit code and for the first time its at 9660 a change from 9650 that its been at for the last 5 to 6 days.

So my car arrived at the dealership and here are the timelines. Since my order was cancelled i am not to sure when the pre order was placed.
I called the dealership whom i had bought a 330E previously. My order was placed march 7 2022

Req production week 49/12/2013
Expected del week 25/6/2022
Status 111
Status 112 21/4/2022
Status 150 27/4/2022
The expected delivery week changed to the following
Delivery week then changed to week 22/6/2022
Status 190 left the factory on 11/5/2021

Expected delivery to dealer changed to 23/5 to 31/5
Arrived at port of exit 13/5
Arrived in the UK Port near Hull 16/5
Cleared customs 18/5

I then started messaging product genius for 4 digit codes and got the following

9650 awIting dispatch to dealer stayed at this from 18/5 until
9660 22/5
9800 delivered to dealer 24/5

My salesman had sent me the text from BCA showing a delivery on the 24/5 and this was sent to me on 19/5 which was accurate.

The dealership are amazing and if anybody wants details then PM me and i will give details.

So from status 111 my timeline came in by nearly 6 weeks so hope for everyone.

I dont pick up my car until next week as i am on holiday and I want a factory fitted dashcam.
