This will be my color. Almost no doubt about it.

Have the Mineral White on my 2019 320id xDrive, and it is stunning, but gonna switch it up with the i4.

Did you consider any other colors before deciding to go with Sunset Orange?

 

Hey there, and thank you for the welcome. I havent pulled the trigger on a preorder just yet. Need to verify prices and such. Still waiting for word from BMW Denmark on that matter.

I am looking at Black Sapphire, Carbon Black and Portimao Blue along with the Orange color. Havent decided 100% to go with the orange yet (made a slight edit in my original post to reflect that), but I am leaning heavily towards it.

I will register my preorder once it has been sent through the system

 

Sunset Orange is nice! For me it’s that, the red or tanzanite/portimao blue which are the nicest. I picked portimao blue, it’s probably the most common choice.

 

Thats the thing for me. I kinda want a color that stands out, which is why I am leaning towards the Orange. The Portimao is seriously good looking, but seems a lot of poeple are going that way.

 

Norway is too cold and dark for orange to be a good color I think 😁 Denmark is much better. BMW has many greens that are cool, but I don’t think the one on offer is. The red is also too dark. The tanzanite blue looks good, maybe a bit more “mature” than the other. This time around I don’t want a grey, black or white car! Quite happy with my choice so far, looking forward to seeing it in real life.

 

anyone has "real" photos of this color in sun and shade?

My granddaughter has rendered by sunset orange I4, including the charging cable, the North Carolina mountains where I will drive it, and the lunar eclipse that occurred on my last birthday.

I ordered mine in sunset orange but just by looking at the configuration. This is the first time I see the real car in the color. No regret absolutely ☺

I've seen a few bmw models on the highway and I really like it. I also like it is not a common color. Hehe

 

I ordered mine in Sunset Orange with cognac leather interior

 

So did I. My model is i4 40 Msport. Looks like an M but with one motor and more range. Shadow option everywhere

 

Everywhere I go 90+% of the cars are some form of white, black, grey, or dark blue.
When I got my 2016 BMW I chose Melbourne Red Metallic. (The closest thing to that is the Aventurine, which is way to dark.) I need something I can easily find in the parking lot. Then as I started seeing a few more red cars, I put a spoiler on the trunk to differentiate mine at a glance.

I like the carbon fiber spoiler design for the M50, but the carbon fiber color ruins it. Once I get the car I'll see if there is an equivalent aftermarket spoiler that I can have painted to match the car.
Otherwise I might splurge and paint the carbon fiber spoiler.

Wish I didn't have to get the grey accented diffuser. Anyone in the USA that gets the black one and wants to trade, let me know.

 

For body color in sunset orange, what color you chose for the mirror cap and front grille border. My M50 come standard in cerium grey. I wonder it is ok with sunset orange.....

 

I would go with extended shadowline for most colors, but especially not on the black one, just to get a bit more detail.

"Arrest-me red" - cop magnet on the highway. They'll see you coming from miles away. But then again, I'm sure you are totally law abiding...

 

however if someone steals my car the police will know it by sight.

I tend to drive a little above the speed limit but not more than the fastest drivers. So there is usually someone for the police to catch begore I get there.

 

my current order is sunset orange, but now that the individual website is up and running, I am struggling to not get atlantis or long beach blue. the $4500 price jump is kind of tough to swallow, but I had an M3 on order in atlantis blue and cancelled it for the i4... my dealer tried to talk me out of the individual option

 

A dealer who is trying to talk his customer out of buying expensive stuff? We need to hear more about this miraculous beast!

I just found out something. I was going through some i4 pictures I have here on my computer. My wife passed by my desk, right when a Sunset Orange i4 was displayed. She yelled "WOW".
I said "What????"
She likes this color.... Why didn't she say that before??? Crazy woman...
Now I have chosen this dull Brooklyn Grey....

I keep going back and forth on Sunset and Portimao. Driving a flare down the road kind of draws attention, but I love the black trim on the Orange better than the blue. Current car is blue as well. As the wife said, most people won't even realize I have a new car. Is that good or bad?

 

If you wanna impress ppl, then get a different color so they know you got a new car.
Personally myself, I got the Sunset because I like it and don't really care what other ppl think, I'm the one driving it and not them. I guess my thinking comes from riding motorcycles cuz everyone I have made mine and not stock like every other factory clone bike. The same will go with my Sunset i4, i will definitely be changing things so it's not like another hehe.

Betya towards the evening, it will kinda look a shade of red but it will really shine in bright sunny days.
