Opening a topic for aftermarket wheels to the i4.

I will get my i4 as a leasing car, where all options are paid during the first contract, and then handed away to the next owner. Thus I went with very minimal options and plan to get aftermarket wheels, which I can use in the next car as well (or sell if the next is not bmw)

So far, e.g. Japan Racing SL01 would seem pretty nice.

I finally got around to getting my wheels mounted and balanced yesterday and got them on the i4 today.... now, I really, really need to install the H&R Springs stat!

Went with a square set up (increased the front to match the rear) and it seems to be working out good, despite some initial reservations. It will be interesting to see the if and what potential impact on range it might have....especially since compared to my OEM 19" 859M, the new set up has shaved-off a near combined 25 lbs of unsprung weight. Tire resistance is another variable, but we shall see. Maybe I should have went with the blue brake calipers to blend more, but that's in hindsight.

Volk Racing G025
19x9.0 +27
Falken FK460 A/S
255/40ZR19

Fitment is great, the flushness is like the staggered OEM 859Ms with a 14mm spacer on the front and a 15mm spacer on the rear. No clearance issues inbound with the shock body or spring perch.

Some quick pics for now....

Looks absolutely great! Those are some wide wheels for sure, like M3 sizes haha. I'm impressed with the fitment. I'm sure you'll have some crazy traction, I do wonder about how your mileage will be affected. Do you know the weight of those wheels?

New additions from Edelweiss! Decided to add a little contrast with the Frozen Gold powdercoat. Super happy with how they turned out!

Specs if anyone's interested:

Tire: Michelin PS4S

• Front: 9.5 kg | 9x20 ET27 for 255/35 R20

• Rear: 10.0 kg | 10x20 ET39 for 285/30 R20

FINALLY got my wheels mounted! ANOTHER huge thanks for the help to @Technic and @Techwhiz1 for helping me figure out the perfect fitment for these (20 x 9.0 et30 with 255/35/20 tires)! These are VFC Performance custom forged wheels that are very similar to HRE FF10s, but I tweaked them to make them better! 😁

These look great! I checked the GMP website and according to them the 19" are only available in 8" and 9" widths. Are these 8" front and 9" rear? The Fondmetals I've ordered come in the same widths, and I was worried the front would look recessed compared to the stock width of 8.5", but on your car these GMPs look mint!

@EiVier maybe this wheel would be an option for you?

Just recently switched to winter tires with the wheels GMP Italia Swan Black Diamond 19¨. They look a lot like the 3 series M sport wheels and I thought that couldn't go wrong with the car.

Sorry for the dirty car. It's impossible to get a white car clean in the winter season here in the northern parts of Europe. Also, it never really gets bright during the days nowadays, so the light is kind of low.

Thanks man. I can go with spacers too. I’m not usually a fan of black wheels but Brooklyn Grey and tinted windows is a nice match.
Black wheels on Brooklyn Grey is really nice, though only stock 791M wheels with 11 and 12mm spacers, here's a pick of that combo on my wife's 330e

Looks like they are indeed vossen hf5. These come in 19x8.5 and 19 x 9.5 sizes. Does anyone know if I could use my stock all seasons on these? My car is brand new and I do not want to buy new tires. As for offsets looks let et30 or et42 for fronts and et35 and et45 for rears. Thoughts are welcome. Thanks.
For the front 19x8.5 you would definitely want to go with the et30, stock is et35, so the HF5 would be 5mm more outward. For the rear 19x9.5, technically you could go with either.. the et45 would come out more than stock a little over 3mm and the et35 would come out more a little over 13mm. If you do the et35 rear, using a spacer on the front et35 would have it match a bit more, but thats all personal judgement from there.

Here's my car at stock height with 12mm and 15mm spacers for reference:
Image

And here are pics of it with an aftermarket 19x9 et27 square setup, which is 14mm more outward than stock on the front and 15 on the rear (same as with stock with 15mm spacers). 1st one is stock height and 2nd is lowered on H&R Springs

Forza M4 wheels in gloss bronze with same specs as OEM setup with Michelin pilot 4 A/S

Hey where did your source those wheels pls, they look 👌. Are they 20’s?

slso what are the specs ET front and rear and load rating, etc?
Forza Performance Group. A few others on the forum have bought wheels from them as well, including these same replicas (in different colors). The specs of my wheels are:

Front: 20x8.5 ET25
Rear: 20x10 ET29
Load Rating: 800 kg

Which are the same spec as the factory 20” wheels (width and diameter), as I wanted to swap the 20” tires that came with the car (my car is still essentially new). However, I had them customize the offset, adding 10mm to the front and rear, so that I would not need to use spacers to get the flush look that I wanted. They will customize the offset (or just about any other parameter) to what you want.

And since I know someone will ask, the weights of these wheels, with the custom offset I got, are (without tires mounted):

Front: 24.4 lbs
Rear: 27 lbs

Don’t know what the factory 20” wheels weigh yet (will get the data soon, they are sitting in boxes in my garage), but I assume they are heavier than these wheels, which are forged. So for those who worry about range (and I am not one of them ;) ), these wheels should theoretically help some over the factory 20” wheel option for the i4.

Those looks great. What were the offsets on those again? I'm also going with a 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 setup using the stock wheels, and want to get a good idea of what to order in terms of wheel offset and/or what size spacers I'd need.

Man those are sweet! How can we keep up with you and your wheels? LOL

I know the thread has been quiet, but for those considering. Just arrived. Bcforge 19x9 Et 28 19x9.5 et 39. Coming from factory rim 19x8.5 front and 19x9 rear

weights at 23.6 and 23.8
Will be using the factory tires 245/40 19 and 255/40 19. According to the company. It will have the side wall relax and hang over the rim just a tad.

Looks good!

Curious.. based on your 245/40R19 front setup, do you think there's enough clearance for going with a 255/40R19 on the front? I considering a wheel set up similar in size specs but tempted to go with 255 up front.

Thx
