Good idea. I'm also looking for nice aftermarket wheels. I took the 18" which will be my winter wheels. For summer, I need 19 or 20". My dealer said I have to look out for the weight. There are heavier and lighter wheels. It does matter range wise. So if we start this, the weight would be a good information too.

Those load ratings seem a bit low. I don't know what the OEM wheels can handle, but I bet it's more like 2000lbs.

 

Load rating certainly is something to look for.
For my current phev it was also the case. The "flow form" wheels seemed to be light enough and have proper load ratings.

 

Will you looks for aftermarket but BMW wheel or from other company?

 

I'm not planning to get replicas of bmw styles, if that is what you mean.
Rather some good quality wheels from BBS, OZ or other "well known" brands

I for one don’t really like the standard wheels that much. The Tesla model 3 performance wheels look better in my book. Though the 20s look cooler in real life than what they do on the pictures. I think the M3 wheels look really good, but they don’t fit. Hope someone comes with some suggestions

It appears the configurators of wheel companies have the new 4 series coupe implemented, but not GC.

At least MAK and Ronal/speedline had some wheels that could be visualized on the new 4 coupe.

I believe Ronal makes oem wheels for Mercedes.
At least my 2014 E -class had Ronal stamped on the original wheels.

Ronal makes BMW wheels aswell. Both sets for my G30 is made by them.

 

Anyone find any companies doing some forged wheels for the i4 M50 yet?

I contacte HRE but they havent got any measurements yet.... Would like to get a 20" wheel that is super light weight yet can handle the weight of the M50!!! thats the problem it seems.

The load ratings seem to fit with 815kg. I wrote them to ask how heavy they are. OOn the moepage it's stated from 10kg upwards. I guess the 10kg are for the 18" wheels.

I would go with 20 but I'm afraid the ride will be too harsch and the range will take a huge hit.

He said I shouldn't buy them because it will void the warranty for everything related to the suspension/drive train and so on. Only original BMW wheels that are made for the i4 won't void the warranty.

So now it seems I have to wait 4 years to change the wheels, put on spacers? Come on BMW.

Spacers can’t possibly void the warranty. That’s total bull**** if that is what they are saying.

even changing the wheels sounds like total BS. Where is an official statement from BMW that says this?

 

I had to order the 18 inch standard wheels that come with the M50, due to limited lease budget.
My first thought was to install 20" O.Z. Leggeras, but their weight rating is to low (700kg).
So my second option will probably be the 20" O.Z. Superturismo Dakars in Matt black.
Those have a load rating of 815kg.

 

So, got an official answer from BMW Switzerland. Spacer will void the warranty because the leverage forces are changing. And 3rd party wheels will also void the warranty.

However, I found some wheels that appear to be OEM wheels. But I can't identify them. Someone any idea what wheels that are?

they seem to be on a new M4, but I can't find them in the configurator.

 

Those wheels are the 963M -offsets not compatible with the i4.

 

Today I changed the 18 858 Mwheels on my I4 e40 msport with gmp Specternblack diamond 19 inch .Gmp is an italian wheel maker,they have olso the new model Luminca on listed their website S compatibile with the i4

Michelin pilot sport 4 with star marking for Bmw fuel efficiency A graded.

Wheels are very light similar to 859 M 11.5 kg and ea h wheel can be loaded 800kg front 825 back.Saw these wheels on the web mounted some Tesla model Y and X .

 

These look great! I checked the GMP website and according to them the 19" are only available in 8" and 9" widths. Are these 8" front and 9" rear? The Fondmetals I've ordered come in the same widths, and I was worried the front would look recessed compared to the stock width of 8.5", but on your car these GMPs look mint!

 

I’m going with a set of 19” Fondmetal Thoes for my winter tires. They’re made especially for BMW’s so factory center caps fit and no spacers are needed.

Thank you very much. I searched for it too, but on the BMW homepage is nothing stated and on other retailers I just found the total package weight of 115kg. So aftermarket wheels shouldn't be more than 11kg to have the same range.

I am not sure if this is realy right, it shows i4 but only 170HP.

 

The configurator lists Japan Racing SL01 for the i4.
Last time I checked, the load rating is not enough for i4.
Also JR configurator doesn't show any wheels for i4, even if i4 can be selected.

 

I have contacted JR in Poland and they helped me configure a set of wheels for my i4 m50. 8.5x20" ET30 in front and 10x20" ET40 in the rear. They can handle a lot of weight, Max load is 750 kg, which times four is far more than the total weight of the car. They only weigh 9.9 and 10.5 kg and the 868m 20" OEM wheels weigh 13.65 and 14.33 kg.

 

I also checked several other yesterday, its mostly the same.

Actually I would buy OZ again, as I have on my F36, but I cant find the specs page where it shows the maximum load.

 

The lightweight OZ wheels were often with 590 or 650 kg load rating.
My original plan was to get some light OZ wheels, but it seems I need to look further.
