What has your experience been? Do they deliver with a bow, a car cover, or nothing?

Are you a photogenic woman taking the first delivery at your dealership? 🎀🎉

I'm definitely not, 🥴 so I'm expecting a low key delivery experience where they shove me out a side door. 🔑🚪

Mostly, I think this is a dealership specific thing.

Poterico2 - I think you’ll find through this post that the average i4talk member is 50% more sarcastic than most psople. Maybe it’s a BMW thing….I learned it the hard way! But to answer your question, I got nothing special from my dealer. Nor do they seem to do any of that since I’ve been back a few times and I’ve never seen a bow or cover. I did get a young salesguy telling me (after I peeked at my car lovingly) - ”hey, you can order one today!”. And I said, ”no need, that one is mine.” Maybe if I was a photogenic woman it would have been different?

The delivery at my dealer is always the exact opposite of spectacular (here are your keys, do you have any questions, ah, and here is a complementary €1.99 bottle of warm sparkling wine with our dealership logo on the label). Maybe I will pick up my next car after the i4 in Munich to experience a memorable delivery for once.

My dealer did let me choose either a travel cup or a baseball hat. For FREE!

Car was covered.

Gotta say this being my fist BMW purchase I was pleasantly surprised at how good the overall purchase process went.

Yes like everyone else the wait was long butme actually getting to the dealership and signing papers handing them my debit card for payment and getting a quick tour of the car I was on the road in less than an hour!

Didn't have to play the stupid games of sales guy going to his manager to get approval on trivial price negotiation so I'm sure that as well as skipping the finance guy stage made it super quick but honestly I loved the quick sale and I was on my way!

Same! And I find those Lexus commercials ridiculously out of touch. “Oh, your husband gave you an ipad for Christmas? That’s nice. I got an $80K car and it had a bow on it while it was snowing outside.” Because it’s always the husband giving the gift…

I WILL say, though, that since this was my first luxury car purchase (TM3 is definitely not luxury), I was hoping for a little extra sauce and was a tad disappointed In the blah delivery. Maybe if we weren’t in 2022 it would have been different.

When I picked up my F25 at the Performance Center, it was "on display" in the lobby/main entrance. Wasn't anything like a nice private experience like this - it was constant commotion with people walking by, and there was another vehicle also being delivered at the same time on the other side of the lobby. I wasn't even permitted to drive it out of the building.

As long as I have a better experience than folks who pick up their Teslas, I will be fine. If they say: Here are your keys and there's your car. it's going to be one hell of an argument. Gonna make them on purpose show me every detail about the car if they don't treat me right and I am sure that they will considering the Owner is running for Congress in our great state.

Did you take delivery during Covid? Hoo boy.

Also, the keys are already inside the car when you take delivery of a Tesla.
You walk up to the car with your phone and it lets you in. Paperwork is inside for your signatures.

Someone did take the keys to my trade in, otherwise there wasn't a lot of human interaction.

I think they were going to put a nice bow on the car as it was sitting on a chair next to my car, but after they found out it had a pretty serious software issue, I think they scrapped the big red bow thing. At the last minute the CA pulled out his phone and took a picture of me standing next to the car and said I was the first i4 sold at the dealership so they MIGHT put it on their Facebook page. Haven't seen anything........................I'm not photogenic........ :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Mine was out back in the service area. They had been charging it overnight, I think.

So they just drove it out and parked it on the wide sidewalk outside the front door. No bow, but one of their techies showed me a few recommended settings and paired my phone and key card.

At the time I didn't know what else to ask. I later went back for another session, which was freely provided.

Typically you’ll get a car cover, 1 years worth of free car washes and details at the detailer of your choice, a full tank of gas and a $500 Amazon gift card as a thank you from the dealer along with a $2000 BMW credit to purchase any of the BMW accessories that you like. Since this is an EV they’ll give you two years of free electrical charging at any electrical charging center in North America since they can’t give you a full tank of gas.

Anything short of this that you don’t receive in the “STANDARD white glove” delivery process, you should iMMEDIATELY DEMAND that they take your car back and on principal give it to someone else as a protest and statement of your displeasure .

PM ME after that and I will begrudgingly take the car off your hands AND you can be sure I will give the dealer a piece of my mind.

This will be my 8th BMW. With my first X5 in 2005 I got a wine basket delivered to my house with goodies and a $200 gift certificate for some BMW swag. With each car I gradually got less. I think for my last car, an M4, I got a keychain and a bottle of cold water. With the i4, I’ll be happy with the two keys for the vehicle and the federal tax incentive!

For my last two deliveries, I did the ED. Wow. The experience at at the Welt was exceptional. I'm sorry that program has been discontinued or I'd be using it again for my M50. I did a second delivery in SC at the PC. That included a hotel stay, free transport, lunch, track time in their cars, a very complete overview of the car and, depending on timing, a tour of the plant. I thjink there was additional SWAG but I don't remember. My MY23 M50 is currently at the port waiting for a ride to SC and my next PCD. Fun.
