I got this message the first time I charged on an AC charger at work. It went away once I powered off/on the car.

If the car seems to be running OK, I'll take a guess there is something being detected by the Battery Management System (BMS).
there is a recall for BMS. Maybe you can check if your VIN has a recall? if you need more information pls ask…

Today while pulling out of an automated car wash my i4m50 starting peppering me with errors. First was "High-voltage system - You can continue to driving. Please have the system checked by your nearest service center to prevent malfunction ...." followed immediately by "Drivetrain - You can continue driving. Have the problem checked bv your service center" and then by "Reduced parking assistance"

Has anyone else experienced any or all of these messages? The iconceirge says nothwithstanding the messages that I should have the vechicle towed to the dealership (but of course the dealer doesn't have any loaner vehicles until the middle of next month). I'm trying to gauge how serious the error might be and see if I can make it until the weekend before getting the car in.

Got the same drivetrain warning message today on my 1 year old ix3. Car stuttered home for 5 miles, tow truck has taken it and will be delivered to the dealer tomorrow ...... not happy at all. BMW advertise this as having a 280 mile range, best I've managed is 220 during summer, this winter has been as low as 180. This is my first and last EV !

I’ve a BMW I4, I just got below notification on the screen while driving. I hope this is something minor. Anyone receive the same?

High-voltage system

You can continue driving. Please have the system checked by your nearest service center to prevent malfunctions and subsequent damage.

Thanks in advance.
Any update on what happened to this? I am in something similar right now, reposted below.

Hey, long time BMW fan (M2, M240i, x5 edrive) and now i4 M50. Unfortunately, it had some really loud noise coming from the front wheel area (almost like a propeller sound and very loud). This is after about 1000 miles and 1.5 months of ownership. The BMW service has had it for about 2 weeks and mentioned that it may need a new front motor/drivetrain (motor failure). They are not sure and waiting to here from BMW corporate (not sure why). They do not seem to put us in priority for a service loaner for some reason and we are asking daily for one.
Based on research, it seems they may not know what is the real issue but they are not sharing it with us. We called BMW corporate to start a case so they can provide more information. We seem to think this may be a major fix and parts may be an issue at this point. Anyone have any guidance? We are in KY, will look into Lemon Law if need be. We have heard of BMW doing a buyback, but I am sure it will require some back and forth.
Thanks

We are in a similar situation with our I4 m50. Make sure you ask for as much detail from the service department. We are getting vague answers, as it seems we have a motor failure. Its been in the service dept for 2 weeks, with no updates except motor failure. We are getting BMW corporate involved.. will send updates.

Also, we had no display errors, just disturbing loud sounds from the front car area, like it was falling apart. Had it towed to BMW dealer immediately.

Interesting,
It could be the roller bearing issue (Stop sales and future recall of several thousand cars).
When was your car built ?
Solution is replacement of driveunit (my i4M50 has stop sales, built in October, waiting for new drive unit)

Thanks for the info. Yes I found an article from bmw and our car did exactly what it stated. See below. We took delivery November 15th week. I'll have to find the build week, but we got this car after someone else cancelled and it was on the way to the dealership. I am positive this is will take a long time, especially since ours is a sold unit and already been used for 1.5 months. I am going to the dealership today and will hopefully find out more.

I have an i4 M50 that’s 3 months old, with 1100 miles in it (US, Northeast). Today, while driving home I got a yellow wrench alert that said “Cont. Driving: possible drivetrain malfunction”. No other explanation. The message persisted over several trips. Obviously I am calling the dealer first thing tomorrow, but was wondering if anyone has seen this before. I did update software to the latest 11/2022.44. Needless to say that this is kind of annoying in a new car with very few miles :)

Had the car three weeks. First long drive yesterday. Car performed superbly. Some great multiple overtakes.

This morning, it greeted me with this message. BMW Roadside Assist came and said it’s an issue with the high voltage battery, not something the tech had seen or heard of before. Car is to be recovered and a courtesy car will be delivered. It had better be a good one!

Missing lunch with my Mum and brother and family.

Very frustrating. Last car to let me down like this was my E60 M5 around 15 years ago. I’ve had my Aston 11 years from new and done 44000 miles. It’s never let me down.

Ugh. So sorry to see this happen... let us know how it plays out?

Will do.

The car is currently stuck in a hotel car park, unable to be put into neutral or to disengage the parking brake, so it cannot be loaded onto the recovery vehicle! Meanwhile courtesy car not available until tomorrow. 270 miles from home.

There have been a couple on here with this issue and the BMW Assist should be able to tell the recovery team how to get it on the flatbed... Ugh.

I am wondering if this is related to following recall which was announced recently:
