What color are you ordering? I am stuck between white and black? | Page 2 | BMW i4 Forum

I have black at top of my list. My current car is black, I see no issue maintaining It.

2nd place is dravit grey. I think BMWs looks stunning in this color with black details/grille.
Funny to read this 8 month later :LOL:

I didn't chose any of these colors! When I saw the black and Brooklyn grey cars next to each other IRL, I was not in doubt anymore. Team BG!

I had some black cars in the past. It looks beautiful when it is just washed. But as with white you will see everything on it. Now I choosed for On black you also see swirls earlier.
For the i4 e40 M trim I choosed Dravitgrau. The strange gray plastic caps on the rear bumper integrate better with that and it gives a better contrast with the black nose.

I've never owned a black car and have heard they are hard to maintain. What colors is everyone else thinking?
I am in the minority who ordered sunset orange, precisely for that reason.

Most of the new mass produced long range EVs are CUVs and SUVs. I am more of car guy and more specifically hatchbacks and liftbacks. Right now there is really only one option that meets those specific requirements. The Polestar 2 which to be honest seems over priced and interior wise seems small (2nd front cup holder is under the armrest).

Also, I am a big fan of the 4-series Gran Coupe which the i4 is based on the new generation.

Really hope that the i4 is a good combination between driving dynamics (it’s a BMW), efficiency (300+ miles of range on a 80 kWh battery) and practicality.

Really interested to see how BMW packs a 80 kWH battery into a ICE based car. I am assuming the i4 will have a frunk with the long hood. Has that been confirmed or discussed?

My biggest concern with the i4 is price. It sounds like initially the cheaper model (35?) will not be available at first. I can wait for when it becomes available. Would be nice if BMW comes out on June 1st saying i4 will start at $50,000 starting fall 2022. Guess we will find out in another 8 days.

@BimmerTim,

How about yourself?

@BimmerTim,

How about yourself?

The eDrive 40 will nit gave a front trunk. Even though there is no frobt motor the space released by this is near the bottom.

With the heat pumps, sensors, and electronics under the hood, I imagine it would be hard to shift all those down to create a trunk.

Team BG here as well. Initially ordered it in Black but was doubting about Brooklyn Grey. Looked to white in the configurator. Saw some picture of the Brookly Grey and changed my order. DId a test drive a couple of weeks ago. Dealer had the Black and Brooklyn Grey so I could compare.
I agree the car looks great in Black but I am happy I changed my order to Brooklyn Grey.

I’m bummed out that Carbon Black is not available. My previous and current F36’s were/are in that colour.

It’s not plain black, but has a touch of dark blue. When clean, it’s classy and cool. When dirty, it’s not even so bad.

I’m going with Dravit Grey, hoping for it to fill the same niche.

Current Build is San Remo Green w/ Cognac interior and blue brake pads.

Considered Sunset Orange but couldn't pull the trigger. Haven't seen either IRL (other than that I think the i3 used to come in Sunset Orange and saw a few of those back in the day).

If it was a standard color that I didn't have to beg for. I had a Techno Violet M3.

I've decided Tanzanite with Congnac leather.

Waiting on my Tanzanite M50!

Black isn't a color, it's a commitment :D

We're going with the Mineral White. It looks dazzling in the sunlight. I've had that color on my previous 2 Beemers and have been pleased with the color and its ability to not show the dirt.

Hahaha, black is a nono… had one black car. Had to wash it weekly and wax/buff it twice a month. Was a cosmo black 323is 1998. Loved that car and looked perfect all the time. But don’t need a commitment…. Noooo thanks. Anyone who tells you their black car was not a big deal to maintain is not very picky. Black shows everything and just too much work!!
