Interesting observations, Steffo. I've configured oyster, so this is informative. I like what they do with the contrast when choosing oyster, so for me it works. I would assume it also makes sense, from a cleanliness standpoint, to keep the seat backs black when choosing a light color like oyster.
Thanks!

I chose Sensatec Canberra Beige w Harman Kardon and am happy with most color-matching parts that give a custom feel - except that I had preferred the seat backs black (for the looks and less shoemarks from kids/passengers) and possibly also the belts as when used often (especially drivers belt) they most likely must be cleaned.

Here is another visible difference seen from those you're driving by...

Unclear whether parts 1 and 2 will be black or not for Sensatec Beige - they are black in DB and black in preproduction car (and black in 440i) but color-matched in OC.

AnyoAnyone know if there will be "stretch marks" in sencatec seats as there will be on leather seats?

Not really sure what you mean.

Here are detailed pics of the sensatec comfort seats. The seats are perforated and don’t have the ”ribbons” in the middle as Vernasca seats.

Thank all, and I hope you are right ... I saw a review of an M50 a few days ago with M-sports seats in cognac. There I could clearly see some "stretch marks". I will find it again and post a picture here ...

This is from a Norwegian demo car with M-sport seats. Can clearly see there is something that starts down in the corner there ... If my car comes like this I will be DISAPPOINTED.

These look like regular sport seats, not the upgraded M Sport. Are you sure they’re M Sport? The stitching pattern and the bolsters don’t match the other pictures. And yeah that corner is not acceptable on a brand new car.

Yes, they are M-sportseats 😉

I think that I need to get into the BMW dealership. There's so many options, and many for things I'm not familiar with, it gets kind of confusing. Merino, Alcantara, 868, 688, M vs Msport, etc. The more I look, the more I find, and the less I understand. :D
Then, it seems like half of it might not even be available in the US, or maybe it will, but either not yet or for a ridiculously high upcharge, but then only if nobody within an undisclosed radius has gotten it before you?

I ordered leather, mainly because I want the ventilation. I also want to stick in the seats better, and adjustable width can help that. But I like the probable durability and veganity of the fake. Stretches and wrinkles in leather seats are 100% normal and unavoidable.

My M8 coupe with less than 8,000 miles has a Silverstone full leather interior which is already showing wear. Every one of my previous BMWs had a black leather interior and I never had any problems. After several thousand miles, abrasion from my belt has caused some of the dye to wear off and dye transfer is starting to stain the seat. If you’re thinking about ordering anything other than a black interior, I would strongly consider going with SensaTec. BMW leather seats are only dyed on the surface and the finish isn’t particularly durable. My i4 (replacing a Tesla Model 3) will have a red SensaTec interior.
